The Zaqatala District Aliabad Islamic Madrasah, which was founded by and officially licensed to operate by the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB) on April 19, 2002, has been successfully continuing its activities since that year.

The madrasah's primary goal is to teach the recitation of the Holy Quran to residents of Aliabad village and the surrounding region. It also aims to train mid-level religious specialists by providing religious education according to an approved curriculum.

The program at the Zaqatala District Aliabad Islamic Madrasah is three years long, as per its charter. Students who have completed the 8th or 9th grade of general secondary school are eligible to take the entrance exam. The admissions process is conducted in two stages. The first stage consists of a test and a competition. Students who pass this stage get the opportunity to attend a one-month summer course. Those who successfully complete the summer course are then granted the right to a three-year enrollment.

The madrasah's curriculum is approved by the CMB. Graduates who finish the program with exemplary conduct and excellent grades are given a referral to continue their education at Baku Islamic University.
