A ceremony dedicated to Victory Day was held at the Caucasus Muslims Board

On 4 November, an event celebrating Victory Day was held at the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB).According to AZERTAC, the event began with the playing of the state anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an.The CMB's chairman, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, gave a speech in which he said that Victory Day is a magnificent day of triumph that has taken an eternal place in the historical memory of our people. He spoke about the course of the Patriotic War and the difficulties and trials of that period. He also expressed his high appreciation for the dedication, moral support and patriotic spirit shown by religious figures when organising the funerals and ceremonies of the martyrs.Sheikh-ul-Islam noted that this victory, which ended 30 years of sorrow, was made possible by the unity of the Azerbaijani people, the strength of the state, and the solidarity between the people and their leader. He also praised the wise and resolute policy of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. During the war, relations between the state and religion were based on mutual respect and trust, creating a high moral spirit and belief in victory among the people.
The CMB Chairman emphasised that our country has now restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that extensive construction and restoration work is currently underway in the liberated territories. Although this process is difficult and demanding, it demonstrates Azerbaijan's strength.
In his speech, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade spoke about the strong foundations in the fields of statehood and army building established by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and noted that President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing this policy. He also expressed his high appreciation for the projects implemented by Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, aimed at restoring and protecting religious and cultural monuments in the liberated territories.
Mikhail Yevdayev, the chairman of the Mountain Jewish religious community, then spoke about the multicultural environment and religious tolerance in Azerbaijan. He stated that, during the Patriotic War, representatives of different religions had united for a single goal: the freedom and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. This victory also symbolises our unity.
In his speech, Archbishop Alexis of the Baku and Azerbaijan Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church respectfully commemorated the martyrs and wished good health to the veterans. He emphasised that Azerbaijan's peaceful and respectful environment among religious communities is an example to the world.
Bishop Vladimir Fekete, Head of the Apostolic Prefecture of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, expressed his satisfaction at the free operation of all faiths in Azerbaijan, emphasising that the country's tradition of tolerance further strengthens societal unity.
In his speech, Robert Mobili, Chairman of the Albanian-Udi community, noted that the victory achieved by the Azerbaijani army is a source of joy for all citizens. This victory inspires a sense of pride in the hearts of all Azerbaijanis, regardless of their religious or national background.
Alexander Sharovski, Chairman of the Baku religious community of European Jews, said in his speech that Azerbaijan is one of the few countries that treats all religious representatives equally, and he prayed for the martyrs and wished healing for the veterans.
Martyr families and veterans who spoke at the event emphasised their support for President Ilham Aliyev's policies and expressed their gratitude for the state's care.
Finally, the heads of religious confessions in Azerbaijan adopted a declaration on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War.
