On November 4, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), met with members of martyr families and veterans of the Patriotic War.
AZERTAC reports that Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, speaking at the meeting, discussed the essence of Victory Day and wished mercy to the martyrs and recovery to the veterans. He stated that today the Azerbaijani people are proud of the heroism and dedication of their martyrs and veterans.
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB) noted that before the Victory, religious sites in the occupied territories were desecrated and mosques were destroyed, but despite this, the Azerbaijani people were always confident that their lands would be liberated.
Mr. Pashazade highlighted that the Victory achieved as a result of the wise and farsighted policy led by President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as the bravery of the Azerbaijani Army, will remain forever in the historical memory of our people. He highly praised the attention and care shown by our state to the families of martyrs and veterans, and stated that the restoration and reconstruction of religious monuments in the liberated territories is an indicator of the importance the state attaches to moral values.
Then, representatives of religious confessions attending the event spoke about the environment of religious tolerance and mutual respect that exists in Azerbaijan. It was noted that representatives of various religions united during the Patriotic War for one purpose—the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This indicates Azerbaijan's commitment to religious diversity and multicultural values, as well as the high level of national unity and solidarity in our society.
In the end, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade presented memorial gifts to the members of the martyr families and the veterans.
