December 16, 2025 — The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, participated in the 11th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) held in the capital city of Riyadh on December 14–15.
The official opening ceremony of the 11th Forum, dedicated to the theme "A New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in Dialogue for Humanity in a Multipolar World," featured speeches by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations; Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for UNAOC and UN Special Envoy to monitor and combat Islamophobia; Ms. Elma Saiz Delgado, Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration of Spain; Binali Yıldırım, former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly and former Prime Minister of Türkiye; José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former Prime Minister of Spain; and Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League.
Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade delivered a speech at the plenary session titled "Faith in Humanity: Interfaith Dialogue as a Bridge to Peace and One Humanity," moderated by Her Royal Highness Princess Rym Ali of Jordan.
Conveying the blessings and best wishes of His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the forum participants, CMB Chairman A. Pashazade emphasized that over its two decades of activity, the UN Alliance of Civilizations has established itself as an important international platform serving the interests of humanity and contributing to the development of cooperation between state, public, and religious representatives in solving global problems. He highlighted that the organization’s achievements in addressing global challenges regarding peace and the future are commendable.
Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade noted the valuable historical experience of building bridges and coexistence among representatives of different cultures and civilizations.
