The systematic study of Western Azerbaijani heritage, the protection of religious and spiritual monuments, and the communication of these truths to the international community have become priority directions in recent times.
In this context, strengthening cooperation between relevant institutions makes an important contribution to presenting facts about Western Azerbaijan in an accurate and professional manner. The Western Azerbaijan Community successfully continues its consistent and purposeful activities in this direction. The meeting held at the Western Azerbaijan Community with the Qadi of Iravan, Bakhtiyar Najafov, is one of the next steps taken in this regard.
Welcoming the guest, the Chairman of the Board of the Western Azerbaijan Community, Member of Parliament Aziz Alakbarli, stated that numerous mosques, religious sites, shrines, and places of pilgrimage have existed in Western Azerbaijan throughout history, and a large portion of them are currently destroyed or distorted by Armenian vandals. He emphasized that the Community is conducting consistent work to re-investigate this heritage based on factological foundations, to clarify existing information, and to bring it to the attention of the international community.
Professor Vahid Novruzov, Chairman of the Audit Commission of the Western Azerbaijan Community, and Board Member Mirfaiq Mirheydarli, who participated in the ceremony, exchanged views with the guest on the study of religious-spiritual heritage, the strengthening of institutional cooperation, and the presentation of Western Azerbaijan's truths on international platforms.
The Qadi of Iravan, Haji Bakhtiyar Najafov, expressed his gratitude for the warm meeting and particularly noted the role of religious values in society and the importance of passing spiritual heritage on to future generations. Emphasizing that the issue of Western Azerbaijan is not only political but also religious-spiritual and cultural, he stated the importance of close cooperation between the Qadi office and the Community and its structures. In his opinion, since people from all regions of Western Azerbaijan are united within the Community in the form of village and district sub-communities, its potential cannot be compared to any other institution. The Qadi also pointed out that peace, spiritual unity, and religious solidarity are important conditions for stability in the region.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct the study of religious heritage, the collection of historical facts, and public enlightenment work in a coordinated manner.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of symbolic gifts.
