The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, will visit the Vatican on October 27. The visit takes place based on an invitation to solemn events on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the main document of the Second Vatican Council that formed the foundation for the Roman Catholic Church's relations with other religions. The anniversary coincides with the Year of Hope, which is dedicated to once again emphasizing and strengthening peace, solidarity, and mutual respect throughout the world. On October 28, Sheikhulislam A. Pashazade will participate in a series of events intended to commend the Nostra Aetate document jointly organized by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, as well as to reaffirm the vital importance of peace and reconciliation, and interreligious dialogue. Within the framework of the visit, meetings are planned for the CMB Chairman A. Pashazade with Pope Leo XIV, Vatican officials, prominent religious figures from various religious confessions, including renowned religious leaders of the Muslim world.
